CheckPlate deploys dynamic methods through augmented reality to enable food lovers to see a virtual 3D representation of their preferred food on their table in a restaurant or while ordering food online.

The Challenge

  • Make the AR menu available across maximum number of devices
  • Make the AR placement stable in low lighting conditions (e.g. restaurants)
  • Be able to dynamically update menus from the cloud

The Solution

  • Developed the Solution leveraging ARKit, ARCore, and Vuforia engine
  • Developed markerless tracking in ideal lighting conditions, marker based tracking in low light, and isolated model in ultra low light
  • Developed auto update mechanism for being able to control the models from a web based cloud backend and auto update/sync to the mobile device when internet is available
